While doing research for this month’s Newsletter, I came across some of the old teen people covers!
As a kid, these were all covering my wall in between posters, album inserts and articles from Teen Bop & Teen Beat.I wish I kept some of my old nostalgia, but after moving dozens of times, I dont have much of anything. For better or worse, I have started to rebuild my collection of fandom Britney merch.I am strategic about what, if anything, from her brand I will support; but I have had some fun reliving my childhood through my love of Britney!I now have a small collection of her perfumes, vinyl records, tarot cards with her likeness and a handful of other keepsakes!
And yes… each of those comes with the guilt that I am supporting BritneyBrands. But my logic is: I choose to support her when it really means something to me, and protest when it really matters and can make an impact.
I (resentfully) am including this cover with JRT. He makes me so mad, I still feel like the teenager that aggressively sided with Britney and always hated what a horrific and cruel first ever break up she went through and her heartbreak felt so palpable to me. But… I want this news letter to be a well rounded view, so I will include him even though I am still mad about a break up from two decades ago that had nothing whatsoever to do with me.
